“We’ve loved working with Ali and Odyssey. Their experience as operators and founders has been fundamental to our success, as they have worked with us in the trenches side by side with no ego - on everything from big strategic decisions to fundraising to tactical issues day-to-day. They’ve had our backs from day one.”

Flow’s mission is for all humanity’s machines to be built on its platform - a collaborative agile design platform that does for hardware engineering what figma, github and slack have done for software

Even though Pari’s company, Flow Engineering, provides software and AI now, it didn’t start like that. Pari started off as a mechanical engineer who admired SpaceX, which drove him towards the space industry. Around 2010 when he was still at university, he started a company for designing rocket engines.

To make a long story short, Pari built up a company that managed to deliver rocket engine designs in hours, where competitors required months. They achieved this by building a sophisticated network of interconnected models (Matlab, CAD, FEM, etc.) with feedback loops. They realized that the market demanded agile hardware, and that the tools of the trade were completely unfit for teams that wanted to work that way. Flow was born…

Pari’s story

We're building Flow to simplify and accelerate the process of making complex Hardware.

The fundamental way we do engineering today is actually very very similar to the way we were doing engineering back in the 60s when we were putting Man on the Moon with the Saturn Rockets. If we want to be able to design the next era of systems we need fundamentally better ways to design test itch rate and validate our systems which means we need to rethink the way we're doing engineering itself.

We actually started out as a hardware company and we were designing rocket engines but we were in London which meant two things; we didn't have the cash to test and we didn't have the physical test equipment to be able to do that - so we needed to find digital ways of Designing and verifying the designs the best of our capability.

Whilst we were building the rocket company and told people that we can design new engines faster than anybody in the industry - we realised that actually we had invented is a new paradigm of doing engineering - and if we could put that in a box and put in a piece of software that other Engineers can use - then we can radically accelerate this transition to this new faster more software-like way of doing engineering design. And so Flow was born.

We raised a seed with Ali when he was at EQT and then he doubled down in our next round; he is the investor we know truly has our back. And now we are so proud that we have some of the most amazing companies all over the world building on Flow. We’re an incredibly small team building and selling product at an insanely fast speed - in fact we think we are the fastest growing software for hardware company out there. And we’re just getting started; we can help the nuclear and industry, the Aerospace industry, the automotive industry, the medical device industry, the robotics industry - we can help all of these different Industries move much much faster and accelerate this new age of engineering.
